Church of the Tithes (Kiev) Jigsaw Puzzles : The first stone church in Kievan Rus, built by Vladimir the Great between 989 and 996. Its name comes from the "tithe" (one-tenth) of income the Prince dedicated to its construction. Though destroyed by the Mongols in 1240, its foundations remain a site of immense historical and religious importance in Kyiv, Ukraine. Excavations have revealed its grand Byzantine-inspired layout, and it remains a symbol of the birth of Orthodox Christianity in the region.
