Hofje Meermansburg Jigsaw Puzzles : One of the largest and most famous "hofjes" (almshouses) in Leiden, Netherlands. Founded in 1680 by Maerten Meerman, it was built to provide housing for the elderly and poor. The complex consists of 30 small houses surrounding a peaceful, symmetrical inner courtyard with a central garden. It is a beautiful example of Dutch philanthropic architecture of the Golden Age. The regent's room still contains original portraits and furniture, preserving the social history of 17th-century Leiden.
